Our Benarasi brocade fabric is from Benaras itself – one of the six districts of Uttar Pradesh where this brocade technique is found (and nowhere else in the world!), in accordance with Geographical Indication (GI) rights won by local weavers in 2009. Since Mughal rule, when silks, brocaded textiles, and other luxurious fabrics were in high demand, and when trade and exchange with Central Asia flourished, Benarasi brocade has been established as a design aesthetic and weaving technique specific and exclusive to the master craftsmen and weavers of Benaras.
Easy to wash, easy to clean, easy to slip-on and slip-off, and has a conveniently concealed zipper at the back. It makes for a stunning overcoat for your furniture and lends variety to your living room. Certified Master of Fun and Function.
